Google captcha ?
I was playing the very last puzzle in the google Da Vinic Quest game. When I logged into my personalized google home page I saw this warning and captcha request:
Of course my first attempt failed, can you tell if thats a zero or an ‘O’ ? Apparently I’m not the only one. I’m thinking that this means the whole world was querying the snot out of google trying to go for the big prizes. Has anyone else experienced this?

I got the same sorta thing 2 times. It was definately sluggish even for google. There must be a lot of DVC nerds out there.
I didn’t play or try to submit an entry myself, but a lot of my friends did and they reported similar problems. I’m guessing you’re right about server overload, especially since Google was only accepting the first 10,000 time-stamped entries. I bet there were thousands of people trying to submit at the same time.
I got this error the other day trying to log into the Adsense part of Google. I wasn’t even playing the Da Vinci game.
I got that too. had to go back and reanswer all the questions

Hmmm, Google can’t get captchas right? You avoid using 0 and 1 since they look like O and l. Other systems get this right. I thought all the smart people worked at Google? :)
From my experience the google captchas only use letters, I don’t think I’ve never had to type a digit. So those 1 and 0 are actually i and o.
I got this even though I didn’t visit google. I was just doing what I usually do. Suddenly, I can’t visit blogger blogs. How shitty.
