Code Snippet Plugin Bug

September 15th, 2005 ^Lestat No comments

Thanks to php-scripts.com for the code to fix the Wordpress php code snippet plugin from blog.enargi.com.

The snippet was adding a space in php opening tags like this: < ?php
Where it should be <?php

As noted – be careful not to copy/paste the code directly.

php-scripts.com alerted the author about the problem/fix.

Added: Technorati Tags

I recently added technorati tags to the the entries.

What is it?

It’s kind of like the “Related Material” source in the back of a term paper or book. They are keywords, about the entry you make. These keywords are linked back to technorati.com. If you hit a technorati keyword from beginnercode.com, it will take you to the most recently updated blogs at technorati.com that use those keywords. You can also just go to technorati and poke around some of the most recent keywords used. It’s a pretty cool feature for following particular subjects.

I downloaded a plugin for it from broobles.com. After installing it, all you need to do to make it work is type this code in your entry:

<tags>tag, another tag, and another tag</tags>

8 days old today…

September 2nd, 2005 ^Lestat No comments

This blog is officially 8 days old and I’m really excited about it!

The ad-sense has started ‘working’! I’m actually making some cash.

The statistics look good, but I think theyre a bit skewed, as all my article edits and testing contributed to most of it, I think. Here’s the stats according to my host:
statstics 09-05

Thanks to technorati, and the Hurricane Katrina articles, I actually got some referers/readers from newsweek!

From Webmaster Cookbook: Some users find it offensive to have sound when you visit or open a web page.
