There’s one thing that not only annoys me, but makes me worry a bit. Any services that are offered at an online service. In this case it’s a hotmail issue. I was in the middle of an intense, time sensitive email conversation, where we were mailing back and forth. I was notified of the new mail and…
AGHHHH!!!
I’ve been leaning a bit on del.icious.us lately a bit too much for comfort too. What happens if the server there gets “too busy”, goes down, or worse yet - decides to completely shut down and remove itself from the web?
What web services do you rely on? What services are you leary of?

I really like what you have done with this site!
Well, I do have a couple of blogs on blogger, and you wouldn’t believe how many times I get “too busy” or “engineer’s been notified” message.

Good post. This is the real achille’s heel for online apps. There should be some local failsafe or you just lose them. The new version of WP has autosave which helps for those who autopost and then run into server error messages. Also using a browser that saves what’s typed in the form box so you can return and not lose on server error messages is helpful.
